A project team is returning to Salmon Arm to further expand access to personal health information online via Interior Health’s new MyHealthPortal e-tool.
MyHealthPortal provides patients with 24 hour access to their health information via their personal phone, tablet or computer through a secure portal from the Interior Health website. Features include the ability to view Interior Health lab results, diagnostic imaging reports (such as X-ray, CT and ultrasound), certain upcoming appointments, recent hospital visit history, and the opportunity to update address and phone number information.
In June, the project team was on site at Shuswap Lake General Hospital inviting people to enrol in person by showing photo identification and completing an enrolment form. This launch was very successful – more than 500 people in Salmon Arm have enrolled to date.
Now patients who did not enrol during that initial launch period will be able to enrol remotely by adding their email address to their patient record at the Registration area in the hospital. They can then submit an enrolment request at www.interiorhealth.ca/MyHealthPortal. MyHealthPortal support will contact them by phone to verify their identity and complete enrolment.
MyHealthPortal is available to patients who have enrolled in person or via remote enrolment in the initial pilot sites. In the future, the service will be introduced to all Interior Health hospital patients through a phased roll-out schedule.
MyHealthPortal is a secure patient health portal. Protecting and safeguarding patients' personal information is among Interior Health’s highest priorities. In addition to stringent privacy practices, Interior Health uses a diverse range of technologies and security mechanisms to ensure the safety, confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
