Police caught up with the suspect at around 9:30 p.m. in the Diamondvale neighbourhood.

The people who were assaulted weren’t seriously injured and are getting help from local victim services.

Kevin Edward Young, 35, of no fixed address remains in custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.

Young is well known to Merritt RCMP and is facing a total of 12 charges including four counts of assault, three counts of uttering threats, four breaches and one mischief charge.
