Two Kelowna men will face the judge after another man was set on fire last weekend.

Police were told the 18-year-old is suffering second and third degree burns to his back after he was doused in a liquid and lit on fire when he fell asleep on the kitchen floor at a house party in the early morning hours of Dec. 8. Another person filmed the event.

Investigators say this may not be the first time one of the accused has lit someone on fire while they were incapacitated by drugs and alcohol.

Charged with aggravated assault are Mathew Sweet-Grant, 20, and Joshua McWhirter, 18. They remain in custody and are scheduled for court this morning.

Anyone with information about this incident or others is asked to call police at 250-762-3300.
