KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops B.C. SPCA's pet of the week is an amazing cat named Guardian.

According to Guardian's profile, he came to the Kamloops and District B.C. SPCA as a stray wandering the suburbs. He was immediately friendly and pretty relaxed for a cat who had just found himself in a shelter.

He had no identification and was never claimed by anyone. Now that he's been neutered Guardian is looking for his new home.

He is quite relaxed and enjoys spending his time curled up on the laps of volunteers, according to the Kamloops SPCA. He loves attention and becomes very excited when he sees people. He hopes they might stop and give him some attention.

He has had some large dogs walk by his kennel and has shown some curiosity. The Kamloops SPCA says they can do further testing if requested, but they think with a slow introduction and places to get away, Guardian should live in harmony with dogs. Also, he has not shown any dislike of the other shelter cats. So, he may do well in a multi-cat home. Cats are typically solitary and can become stressed if another cat is in their territory, so very slow, monitored introductions are important, says the SPCA.

If you are looking to add a sweet soul to the family, come down and visit the shelter, call them at (250)376-7722, email the SPCA at kamloops@spca.bc.ca or visit the website for more information.
