Large swing in temperatures for Kamloops this weekend

Soccer time at McDonald Park.

KAMLOOPS - At first glance it will be a very warm weekend with lots of sun, but a closer look shows a steep drop in temperature is expected for Sunday.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to reach 28 Celsius today, May 6, and 29 C Saturday, but forecasters are calling for a high of just 16 C Sunday, several degrees below the seasonal normal high temperature of 20 C.

Overnight lows are expected to remain above the seasonal normal low of 6 C, with lows of just 10 C to 12 C expected over the weekend.

Sunny skies are also expected all weekend, along with winds gusting to 50 kilometres per hour Saturday afternoon.
