Kelowna Mountie tracks down stolen iPad, returns it to young boy

KELOWNA - An iPad stolen from a 12-year-old has been recovered thanks to the work of a Kelowna RCMP member who managed to track down the device.

Sgt. Greg Wilcox took it upon himself to recover the device, Kelowna RCMP spokesman Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a press release.

Wilcox recognized the person alleged to have stolen the device from the Capri Valley Lanes bowling alley from surveillance video, then tracked down the 24-year-old man and arrested him near Parkinson Recreation Centre.

The man told police he had sold the device to someone else. Wilcox then managed to track down the iPad, slightly damaged but still working, and return it to the young owner, O’Donaghey says.
