SUN RIVERS - A local investor group has entered into a letter of intent to purchase the Sun Rivers golf course in Kamloops.
Ranchero Enterprises is working on implementing details of a future expansion plan, including a six-hole par three golf course, renovated sand bunkers, Pickleball courts and renovations for Hoodoos restaurant, according to a news release.
Leslie Brochu, vice president of marketing at Sun Rivers, says expansion is what is needed for the course.
"New investment and expanded facilities is exactly what is needed to broaden the appeal of the golf course," Brochu says in the release. "This is such a great vote of confidence in the community of Sun Rivers and the Kamloops region as a whole."
Brochu says the pending sale includes a future expansion plan which increases the lifestyle options for those already living at Sun Rivers.
Bill Amy, spokesperson for Ranchero Enterprises, says it's a great opportunity for the investor group.
“It is anticipated that the sale will close in late October," Amy says in the release. "Weather permitting, improvements to the golf course will start immediately following the seasonal shut down."
