Heat and sun to descend on the Okanagan

The weather has been perfect for shorts, tank tops and cycling through Polson Park in Vernon.

OKANAGAN - Temperatures in the 20s and lots of sunshine are on the way for the Okanagan, you just may have to wait until the end of the weekend to see it.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of 19 Celsius today, April 15, in Kelowna and Vernon and 17 C in Penticton. Temperatures are expected to be a bit lower, but still above the seasonal normal high of 15 C, on Saturday, with highs of 17 C forecast throughout the valley.

Sunday temperatures are expected to kick off a week of mid-20s, with a high of 23 C in the forecast.

Overnight lows are expected to be at or near the seasonal normal low of 4 C throughout the weekend.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected over the Okanagan today followed by mainly sunny skies Saturday morning. Some cloud is expected to creep in Saturday afternoon and then we’re back to full sun on Sunday.
