KAMLOOPS – A scare for the people living near the B.C. Wildlife Park when a gas like was ruptured by an excavator Friday night.

RCMP say the natural gas line was hit at about 9 p.m. in the 8900-block of Grizzly Crescent.

Residents in nearby homes were alerted and the power was shut off to the neighbourhood as a precaution.

Fortis B.C. repaired the gas line.
