Dumoulin dominates Tour of Alberta prologue, Canada's Bell in top 10

CALGARY - Tom Dumoulin of the Netherlands dominated the Tour of Alberta's prologue.

The Dutchman finished the four-kilometre time trial at Canada Olympic Park in five minutes 59.70 seconds.

The 23-year-old was the only rider among 118 to go under six minutes.

Runner-up Serghei Tvetcov of Romania was 13.96 seconds behind Dumoulin. Tom Danielson of the U.S. was third 17.01 seconds back.

Zach Bell of Watson Lake, Yukon, was the top Canadian in eighth.

The prologue kicks off the five-stage cycling race that runs through Lethbridge, Innisfail, Red Deer, Sherwood Park and concludes Sunday in Edmonton.
