KAMLOOPS — If you have ever driven down Columbia Street between 1 Avenue and 6 Avenue you probably have an opinion over what needs to be done to improve that particular stretch of roadway.
Share it with city staff this Wednesday evening at a public meeting aimed specifically at the planned reconstruction of Columbia Street.
The plan currently includes the widening of the roadway between 3 Avenue and 6 Avenue, new traffic signals and the closure of the left turn on Columbia Street at 2 Avenue as well as road repairs, curbs, paving, sidewalks, bus stop enhancement and medians. Road rehabilitation through 12 Avenue may also be included.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sandman Hotel meeting room, 550 Columbia Street. A brief presentation will begin at 6:15 p.m. and project boards will be on display as well. Feedback and input are welcome and staff will be on hand to answer questions.
