Canadian hockey fans look forward to golden game as men's team advances to final

TORONTO - Canadian hockey fans across the country let out a collective cheer as the men's hockey team eliminated their American adversaries today to advance to the gold medal game at the Olympics.

Many spectators had paused in the middle of their work day to gather around public televisions, with a number sporting red and white jerseys to support the national team.

At one downtown office tower in Toronto a crowd which was crammed around two large screens counted down the final seconds in the third period as Canada beat the U.S. 1-0 in Sochi.

Many took a moment to savour in the latest victory and reflected on how good it felt to be a Canadian hockey fan.

Meanwhile others were already laying out plans on how they'd take in Sunday's early-morning final game against Sweden.

Sunday's game will be Canada's chance to win a second consecutive Olympic gold medal for men's hockey after they beat the U.S. in Vancouver in 2010.
