Body found in downtown Kelowna identified as local man reported missing

The body of Benjamin Reichert, 39, was found in an abandoned lot in Kelowna after he was reported missing.

KELOWNA - The B.C. Coroners service has identified the body of a man found the evening of Jan. 3 in downtown Kelowna.

The deceased man was found in a vacant lot at near the intersection of Clement Avenue and Ellis Street. He has been identified as Benjamin Reichert, a 39-year-old Kelowna man who had been reported as missing to police on Jan. 2, according to Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey in a press release.

Reichert’s death is not considered suspicious and the investigation is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroners Service.
