KELOWNA - A body was found in downtown Kelowna last night, and RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service are trying to figure out what happened.

Police say the body of a man was found at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 3 on an undeveloped lot at the intersection of Clement Avenue and Ellis Street near Prospera Place.

Both the police and the Coroners Service are investigating, according to a RCMP media release.

"RCMP continue to secure the scene, as investigators probe the man's death," O'Donaghey says in the release. "The investigation is in the early stages as investigators work to positively identify the deceased and properly notify his family."
