KELOWNA – Rainbow flags will fly high on the slopes this April when Big White Ski Resort hosts its first ever Peak Pride celebration.

The festivities are scheduled for April 7 to April 9, 2017, according to a media release from Peter Breeze, Peak Pride co-producer.

Breeze and fellow co-producer Dustyn Baulkham are maintaining a bit of mystery at this point when it comes to performers.

According to a blog on the Peak Pride website: "The first is a Canadian pop music diva who’s been blasting through our speakers for decades and kept us moving with her dance mega hits. The other is a world famous drag queen who recently slayed on Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 2."

The blog continues on to say that organizers are currently booking DJs, drag performers, hosts and go-go dancers.

The opening reception and freestyle party are scheduled for Friday, April 7. The parade of colours, apres ski beer garden and wipeout party are planned for Saturday, April 8. Sunday will feature the VIP chatters brunch and t-party wind down.

A weekend pass is $149 plus tax and a VIP pass is $239 plus tax.

“We are an all-inclusive business. We welcome everyone to come out and experience Big White Ski Resort. We are looking forward to hosting Peak Pride and welcoming guests from all over North America,” Michael J. Ballingall, senior vice-president of Big White says in the release.
