KAMLOOPS - It's time once more for fans of the B.C. Lions to head out to Hillside Stadium for a special day that's all about them.
The City of Kamloops and B.C. Lions are holding Fanfest again, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 8. The team will host a practice and clinic, encouraging fans to take advantage of an opportunity for an up-close look. They'll also be ready to sign autographs and answer questions. For kids there'll be face-painting, inflatable games and prizes.
As well, the Lions have set up two public night practices for fans to enjoy, Friday, June 6 and Sunday June 15. Each practice starts at 7 p.m.
The B.C. Lions Football Club has five Grey Cup titles: 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011.
The rookie camp started Thursday, May 29 even though the team is still without a contract agreement. The CFL is currently in labour talks with the CFL Player's Association. The full camp begins Sunday, June 1 and runs until June 19, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. daily. The team started training in Kamloops in 2010, utilizing the Tournament Capital Centre, Hillside Stadium and facilities provided by Thompson Rivers University.
