Kamloops RCMP need help following up on tip

Kamloops RCMP are hoping the author of a tip that arrived by mail at the Battle Street detachment will come forward so it can be pursued by police.

The RCMP received a letter signed by one 'Jason Flemming' claiming to know witnesses that could be helpful in an ongoing police investigation from an incident back in March that left one man in hospital.

The 46-year-old Mackenzie man was allegedly struck in the head with a skateboard outside a North Kamloops 7-Eleven convenience store following an altercation with a group of youth.

RCMP have been piecing together the events that put the man in critical condition in Royal Inland Hospital when the tip arrived.

According to RCMP, the letter stated: 'My cousin and his wife witnessed the events leading up to this assault.'

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush said it's information police would like to followup on.

No return address or contact information was provided, however he claimed to be from North Vancouver.
