We know what happened to 40-foot Fred from Kelowna's old Bedrock City, but could this item listed for sale this week be one of the rides?

A seller in Victoria earlier this week listed an old Flintstones ride for $600 and appears to be a perfect replica of the Flintmobile, the iconic vehicle owned by famous cartoon Fred Flintstone that was his signature mode of transport. It looks like a piece from the former tourist attraction that so many enjoyed for decades before it closed in 1998.

According to the marketplace listing, the ride still works when a loonie is dropped in its coin slot.

The seller told iNFOnews.ca they’ve had the nostalgic piece for years and don’t recall where it came from. They said a potential buyer will be viewing the Flintmobile today, June 10.

Bedrock City was an amusement park in Kelowna for decades, located next to a waterslide park and  many remember it fondly.

The last part of the park, a forty-foot high plywood replica of Fred Flintstone that once stood at the entrance of the park was taken down in September of 2020. McCurdy Corner shopping centre has since been built on the site.

“There’s a generation or two that lived in that era,” said park owner R.J. Bennett in a previous interview with iNFOnews. “It’s so important looking back on your childhood. It was quite a thing out there on the highway."
