The suspect failed to remain at the scene of the collision and carried onwards to Penticton. Then she was involved in another collision, but again was able to keep to driving dangerously around the city.

The vehicle was finally disabled when it hit a rock wall in front of the TD bank near Main Street and Dawson Avenue. Officers were then able to move in and arrested the woman.

“I more or less followed the police cars out of the parking lot,” Vandament said. “As one officer jumped out of his car and proceeded to chase her on foot he tackled her the other cars pulled around and then they struggled with her to get the handcuffs on.”

“Officers arrested a 38-year-old Penticton resident after several displays of extremely reckless behaviour,” Penticton RCMP Const. Drugs are believed to have been a contributing factor.”
