WEST KELOWNA - The West Kelowna Warriors are helping rebuild the savings account of a local parent advisory council after it was the victim of bank fraud over the summer.

A police investigation was launched this summer when it was discovered approximately $20,000 had gone missing from the account of the Glenrosa Elementary parent advisory council.

The Warriors have announced they will donate $1 for every adult home game ticket sold online and at the box office.

As well, the Glenrosa parent advisory council will host two of the Warriors home game 50/50 draws.

While a suspect connected the to the group has been named in the theft, they have not been publicly identified by the Glenrosa parent advisory council or the RCMP.

The money was earmarked for field trips, movie nights and the year-end carnival, amongst other things.

It's unclear how long the ticket donation promotion will last. Attempts to contact the Warriors were not immediately returned.

— This story was updated at 2:01 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 to correct the number of 50/50 draws the Glenrosa PAC will participate in.
