Out of the Cold Program
Out of the Cold Volunteers - The Out of the Cold Program is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays & Sundays from Nov. 01, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016. This program provides warm meals and shelter for the homeless men & women of Kamloops. bFamily Farm Assistants - The Wildlife Park is in need of volunteers to assist our zookeepers in maintaining a safe environment at our Home Hardware Family Farm for their 18th Annual Wildlights Festival from Dec. 11, 2015 to Jan. 03, 2016. The volunteers will be interacting with park guests as they interact with our goats! Volunteers will also be keeping the barn area clean. Canadian Cancer Society
Door-to-Door Campaign Leaders - The Canadian Cancer Society is currently seeking highly motivated, and enthusiastic Leaders to engage and coordinate canvassers during the Daffodil Month Residential Door-to-Door Campaign in April. The Leaders will assist in recruiting canvassers within their community, help maintain team enthusiasm throughout the campaign, and ensure canvassers have all the tools they need to conduct the campaign. Prior to the campaign, Leaders receive materials from the Regional Office and distribute kits to canvassers. Operation Red Nose
ORN Volunteers - Operation Red Nose is a designated driving service where volunteers drive clients and their vehicles home during the holidays. Volunteer positions include: drivers (21+ to volunteer), escort drivers, navigators (19+ to volunteer); office volunteers: dispatch, phone operators, greeters (16+ to volunteer). Donation Pick-up Volunteers - The volunteers will be transporting donations to the Clubhouse approximately twice a month. Duties: loading, unloading and transporting donations. Recreation Volunteer - The Hamlets provides assisted living and complex care services for seniors and young adults with acquired brain injuries. Volunteers are needed for one-to-one visits, special events, program support, walk and roll visits, helping staff with outings, and the buddy program. 16+ to volunteer. Alzheimer Society of B.C.
Support Group Facilitators (Chase, Ashcroft, & Merritt) - Are you interested in making a real and profound difference in the lives of people caring for a family member with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia? The support group facilitators organize caregiver meetings, communicating with the Alzheimer Society of B.C. staff, maintain group attendance records and use Alzheimer Society materials to provide information to the groups. The objective of our groups is to strengthen the coping abilities of caregivers and reduce the impact of dementia on the community. *Please note that we're looking for facilitators in Chase, Ashcroft, and Merritt at this time. Volunteer Office Administrative Assistants - You can gain experience in your field in a supportive environment. A minimum requirement of 3-6 hours per week is required and preference will be given to applicants willing to put in a 6 month or longer time commitment.
