A Vernon resident is $75,000 richer after her numbers came up in the Lotto 6/49 draw.

Margaret Prince bought the ticket from the 7-Eleven on 32 Street in Vernon.

A media release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation says Prince was having a coffee with a friend when she had a "jolt of energy" and decided on the spur of the moment to purchase a Mini Dip pack for the Lotto 6/49 draw.

"I was shopping and knew I forgot to check my ticket so I stopped at a retailer," Prince said in the media release. "The retailer told me someone had won $75,000 so I checked my ticket and the amount popped up. I was mind blown and shocked."

Prince shared the news with her family and a few co-workers and plans to use her windfall to "splurge" on a car for herself.
