Police are asking the public for help after a Vernon man was badly burned in a "suspicious occurrence" early this morning.

Police believe the 53-year-old man was burned during an incident in Polson Park.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP news release, at 2:20 a.m. today, Dec. 22, emergency crews were called to the intersection at 32 Street and 25 Avenue where a man had been badly burned.

The man was rushed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The police investigation led them to Polson Park where they believe the man sustained his injuries.

Police are asking anyone that may have witnessed any activity that led to the man being burnt, and have not already spoken to investigators, to please contact the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
