Vernon RibFest cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns

The last RibFest in the Okanagan still scheduled for this summer has now been cancelled.

The Vernon RibFest Committee has cancelled RibFest this year, but will continue to work toward a RibFest in 2021.

"Our sympathies at this time are with those affected by COVID-19 including ribbers, vendors, performers, businesses, non-profit organizations, media and sponsors and volunteers as well as those who are providing leadership and essential services during this challenging situation," Vernon RibFest said in a May 7 press release.

The Kamloops and Kelowna RibFests have also been pushed off until summer of 2021, while the Penticton RibFest is set to take place this September.

Organizers have tentatively set July 9 to 11, 2021 as the dates for the next Vernon RibFest.
