Vernon motorcyclist seriously injured in multi-vehicle crash

RCMP

A 58-year-old Vernon man suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash on Westside Road near Ki Low Na Road, south of Vernon, just before 3 p.m. on Friday.

The man, who was riding a motorcycle, allegedly crossed the centreline into oncoming traffic.

“Preliminary findings suggest the northbound motorcycle crossed the centre of the roadway, colliding with a southbound passenger vehicle, causing the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected and struck by a second southbound vehicle,” states a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP news release.

Police are still investigating and no further update on the man's condition was released.

The road was closed for some time following the crash, the release said.
