Vernon man busted after pointing gun at another driver

A Vernon man was arrested at his home after an apparent road rage incident in that city at about 5 p.m. yesterday, March 24.

A motorist pulled out to pass another vehicle on Highway 97. The driver of the vehicle being passed allegedly pointed a firearm at the passing vehicle and threw something out his window that caused damage to the passing vehicle.

The suspect followed the complainant as far as the weigh scales on the highway north of Vernon.

By the time police arrived at the weigh scales the suspect was gone but police were given his licence plate number so were later able to arrest the 25-year-old at his home.

A search of the vehicle found an empty BB gun under the seat.

The man is facing a number of charges, including mischief, possession of an imitation weapon and pointing a firearm.
