Vernon cops investigating two break and enters

VERNON - Thieves broke into a home and a business almost two weeks ago and RCMP are trying to crack the two cases.

Last Thursday, Feb. 16, police received a report of a break and enter at the Auto Shine car wash on Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says in a media release.

The break and enter occurred overnight on Feb. 8 but it wasn't reported until Feb. 16. Thieves broke into a shed and made off with tools, a pressure washer and a Nakita 6750 generator.

A day later, a residential break and enter was reported to the police on Feb. 17. A home in the 4300 block of Cascade Drive was broken into at some point between Feb. 14 and Feb. 16, according to Noseworthy.

Police say the suspect or suspects broke into the basement and took a camera, jewelry, liquor, two speakers and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information regarding either of these crimes is asked to call the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at -250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
