PENTICTON - Police have recovered the vehicle stolen in last week’s carjacking in Penticton.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release officers recovered the stolen 2017 Toyota Rav4 near Eckhardt Avenue and Comox Street on Sept. 20.

The vehicle was taken after a motorist was flagged down by a man standing by a motorcycle on Eastside Road around 3 p.m. Sept. 19.

After pointing a firearm at the driver, the man took the vehicle and fled north on Eastside Road.

The motorist was unharmed and called police.

An active investigation continues with assistance from the forensic and general investigative sections, Grandy said.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
