Vancouver's sixth homicide victim of 2013 was linked to gangs and drugs: police

VANCOUVER - Vancouver's latest homicide victim has been identified as a 20-year-old man with links to gangs and the drug trade.

Const. Brian Montague of the Vancouver Police Department says Xin (Jhin) Shi Dong, also known as Steven, appears to have been killed in a targeted attack.

Dong's body was discovered Thursday night between two houses in a quiet residential neighbourhood near a golf course.

Montague says the Burnaby, B.C., man was shot.

Police say there have been five other homicides in Vancouver this year.
