GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Latest on a Wisconsin state lawmaker's daughter arrested for possible involvement in an overdose death (all times local):

A Wisconsin state lawmaker says his daughter's arrest in an overdose death is another example of "the disastrous and destructive consequences" of addiction.
Rep. John Nygren of Marinette said Wednesday that his daughter, Cassandra Nygren, has struggled publicly with addiction for several years. He says her arrest "is a strong reminder of how fragile the road to recovery is."
Nygren also extended condolences for the loss of life. In a statement, he said, "There are no words that we as a family can offer to give any real comfort for this tragic loss."
Brown County Chief Deputy Todd Delain told USA Today Network-Wisconsin that Cassandra Nygren and a 33-year-old man were arrested in a recent drug death. Formal charges aren't expected before Thursday.
Rep. Nygren has offered bills aimed at drugs and drug addiction over the years.

A Wisconsin state lawmaker's daughter is under arrest for possible involvement in an overdose death.
Twenty-eight-year-old Cassandra Nygren was being held Wednesday in the Brown County jail on suspicion of first-degree reckless homicide/deliver drugs and manufacture/delivery of heroin, among other charges. Formal charges aren't expected before Thursday.
Brown County Chief Deputy Todd Delain told USA Today Network-Wisconsin that Nygren and a 33-year-old man were arrested in a recent drug death. Delain would not say who overdosed.
Nygren's prior struggles with drugs spurred her father, Republican Rep. John Nygren of Marinette, to offer multiple bills aimed at drugs and drug addiction over the years.
Rep. Nygren's office said he was travelling Wednesday and not immediately available for comment. It wasn't clear whether his daughter had an attorney to comment on the allegations.
