Two suspects arrested after Kamloops break-in interrupted

FILE PHOTO

Two suspects were arrested last week after the Kamloops RCMP stopped a break and enter.

Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Hook Road after two people returned home to find an interior door locked and heard voices inside, July 16, around 5:25 p.m., according to the RCMP's media release.

Kamloops and Tk’emlúps RCMP detachments, as well as the Police Dog Services, set up a containment area. Police initially heard the suspects had a firearm.

The Southeast District Critical Incident Program Emergency Response Team attended to assist and a Kamloops man and woman were taken into custody without incident.

The pair were later released with a court date and could face potential charges, according to the RCMP.

Police are asking anyone with information related to this investigation to contact the Tk’emlúps RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2021-24290.
