Police responded to a reported mugging on Friday night and expect to two suspects will face charges.

Officers were called to the Lansdowne Village Shopping Centre around 7:22 p.m., Dec. 3, after two people entered a store and told others they had been robbed by two men who had what appeared to be a gun, according to an RCMP news release.

One of the victims took a photo of the suspects and showed an officer on patrol, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

“Throughout the night, police continued to look for the suspects and were successful in finding them, the stolen handbag and its contents," Evelyn said in the release.

Police say an object that resembled a handgun was seized from one of the suspects.

Both suspects were released with a court date as police conclude the investigation, but charges are expected to be forwarded to Crown prosecutors.

Evelyn was not immediately available to confirm the arrests are the same as one at Riverside Park that saw a suspect injured and sent to hospital.
