One person was injured after a Tuesday morning assault in Kamloops, but police say the motive isn't clear.

Two suspects left the scene in a white Dodge Ram after the incident at a business on the North Shore, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

Officers were called to the area around 7:15 a.m., March 5, where one of the suspects was reported to be carrying a handgun, police said.

“On scene, officers located a victim with obvious injuries that were fortunately non-life threatening,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said.

"The motive for the assault is unknown at this time."

The nature of the victim's injuries aren't clear, but Evelyn said they were not gun shots wounds. The victim has been cooperating with investigators, she said.

Kamloops RCMP is also looking for a white Dodge Ram the two suspects were using.

The detachment released photos of the two suspects and the white truck, seeking tips from the public.

The first suspect is a Caucasian male, described as middle-aged. He was wearing a brown and plaid jacket with dark pants. The second suspect is also male, but shorter and stocky. He was wearing a camo jacket and what appears to be a black balaclava.

The white Dodge Ram had running boards along with black window vents, a hood scoop and a tonneau cover.
