A trial for a Kelowna police officer charged in relation to a violent wellness check is moving ahead next month.
Const. Lacy Browning was charged with one count of assault after a video was released showing footage of a police officer, later identified as Browning, dragging then UBC Okanagan student Mona Wang down a hallway and treating her roughly.

Browning was charged with assault following an internal Kelowna RCMP investigation, a year after the incident took place.
Browning’s trial will begin Nov. 7 and continue until Dec. 21 in Kelowna.
A lawsuit filed against Browning by Wang was settled out of court.
Wang gained national attention in 2020 after the video surfaced.
