A trucker who had trouble passing a Tenco salt truck on the Coquihalla decided to confront the driver at a pullout.
The trucker approached a man in a high-vis vest who servicing the truck at the southbound Zopkios brake check. He recorded the interaction and it was shared to the Facebook page Skilled Truckers Canada.
“He’s not even putting any sand down,” the trucker says.
“The plough’s not even down. I worked for 11 years in a coal mine in Elkford B.C., I know what I’m talking about.”
Then the driver of the salt truck became involved and took a more aggressive tone with the trucker.
The trucker asked the salt truck driver why he wouldn’t let him pass, and the salt truck driver said many other motorists had no problem passing.
“What was your problem?” the salt truck driver asked.
“Because they’re idiots to pass you like that,” the trucker says.
The argument becomes more fickle and the men begin shouting and cursing. The trucker claimed to have called the RCMP prior to the confrontation.
The trucker made a comment that the contracting business is funded by tax dollars and then he was told to go away.
“What do you mean go away? Make me go away,” the trucker said.
“Hey, hey, there’s no need for that,” the calmer Tenco employee said.
The trucker also claimed his brand new windshield was cracked, though he doesn't specify if it was a result of the salt truck.
