Anyone travelling between West Kelowna and Peachland has passed the decades-old Gorman Bros. sawmill with its teal sided warehouses and tidy stacks of lumber.

This video takes viewers on an educational tour through the facility as logs travel through the noisy sawmill, are dried in a kiln and sent to the planer to have the final finishing done.

The logs come out of the process as smooth, beautiful boards ready to be packaged and shipped, while the wood waste is repurposed.

The video captures the rumbling sounds of saws and moving machinery, and includes some aerial footage of the plant.

Gorman Bros. Lumber was started in the mid-1900s by brothers Ross and John Gorman and employs hundreds of workers today, many of whom are friends and family members.
