TRENDING NOW: Toronto Zoo welcomes birth of critically endangered Vancouver Island marmots

It's a good season for Vancouver Island marmots.

There are only a few hundred left in the wild and The Marmot Recovery Foundation calls them "Canada's most endangered mammal."

Recently, the Toronto Zoo announced the birth of eight marmots in a video posted June 24. Pups from the Toronto Zoo, The Calgary Zoo and the Tony Barrett Mount Washington Marmot Recovery Centre are making possible to re-introduce this species back to the wild, according to the foundation.
