It was a terrifying few minutes at the Scales & Tails reptile centre in a suburb of Salt Lake City in Utah this week.
An employee is recovering after an alligator grabbed her by the hand and pulled her into an enclosure as visitors, including children watched in horror.
One of the visitors jumped into the water to help.
"We've got trouble in here,” he yelled before leaping into the water to save her.
