PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP dealt with an antagonistic driver last week.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Baylis said Penticton RCMP stopped a motorist at a traffic stop on Manitoba Street on July 20 who was exhibiting signs of impairment.

As police began an investigation, the driver became unruly and began to fight, kicking an officer in the chest before fleeing the scene.

Police were able to locate the driver a short time later. He was arrested and subsequently released after being charged with several offences.

The officer was uninjured in the attack.
