VERNON - From postcard perfect lake views to snow covered mountains, this picturesque valley we call home has no shortage of lovely locales.
This Valentine’s Day, we’ve decided to celebrate the romantic locations our city boasts, and to help us round up the top seven we caught up with some local photographers. Who better to scope out the most romantic places in Vernon than wedding and engagement photographers?
The area’s beaches and parks topped the list among the photographers we talked to—no surprise, they are phenomenal and extremely photogenic. Renée Leveille of Wedded Bliss & Baby Bliss Photography says places like Kalamalka Lake, Kekuli Bay and Kin Beach are some of her favourite spots to photograph love birds.
“They’re romantic places to begin with because they’re so picturesque,” Leveille says. “We’re all so busy, so urban, that to get out and connect with nature it slows everything down. We can take a deep breath, and it just sets the backdrop and translates into a really romantic setting. It’s a time for couples to reflect on their relationship and feel more connected.”
The city’s romantic places are a destination for many couples, but are particularly meaningful for locals.
“My clients love it as a backdrop to say I live in a beautiful area and now my love story is starting with it as a backdrop,” Leveille says.
Many thanks to Wedded Bliss Photography, Camillia Courts Photography and Erin Rispin Photography for sharing their wonderful photos.
