A Tk'emlups home was targeted in a shooting Friday evening, but no one was injured.

Officers from Tk'emlups rural RCMP detachment were called to the 1000 block of Ricardo Road around 10:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, where several gunshots were reported, according to an RCMP media release.

Police confirmed there were gunshots and found a vehicle doused in accelerant.

“Based on the investigation so far, the incident appears to be targeted toward one residence in particular,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the gunfire, which could have easily resulted in a more tragic outcome.”

Police are asking anyone with information, along with security or dash cam video, to contact the Kamloops rural detachment at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2023-37110.
