KAMLOOPS – Fire crews made quick work of a garage fire in Brock this afternoon, and saved three cats in the process.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in the attached garage in the 1000-block of Windbreak Street at about 1 p.m., May 27. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the garage and quickly knocked down the blaze.

Capt. Mike Wallace says the fire was contained to the garage but smoke got into the house. A fan was used to blow the smoke out.

There wasn’t a vehicle in the garage.

Wallace says no one was home at the time and firefighters smashed out a window next to the front door to get inside. Three cats were rescued.

“The cause of the fire is considered suspicious until fire investigators arrive,” he says.

Firefighters smashed a window next to the front door to gain entry to the home rescuing three cats.
