Thieves used heavy machinery to pull an ATM from a Peachland bank early this morning.
Police were called to the scene around 4:30 a.m., Oct. 8, where the suspects used a front-end loader and a pickup truck to remove the ATM deposit box from the building.
They fled the scene on the 5500 block of Clements Crescent, but police soon found the equipment and the ATM deposit box abandoned "not far" from the bank, according to a West Kelowna RCMP news release.
Police couldn't find the suspects.
"This was a bold and dangerous act that caused significant damage to the business," Cpl. Devon Gerrits of West Kelowna RCMP said in the release.
Police didn't say whether the thieves managed to steal anything of value from the ATM deposit box. Police also didn't mention whether the truck and front-end loader might have belonged to the suspects, but a police-supplied photo suggests the pickup truck was stolen.

A stolen truck was used to carry off the ATM deposit box, which was later abandoned.
