Teen stabbed during fight at Coldstream grad party

FILE PHOTO

A teenager was stabbed during a fight at a grad party in Coldstream over the weekend.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called to the party on Mackie Drive around 1 a.m. on June 22, according to a press release from police.

So far, police believe the stabbing started out as an argument between a 15-year-old and an 18-year-old, escalated into a fight and then the 18-year-old stabbed the other teen.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the suspect drove away before police arrived.

Police found the suspect and arrested them. The suspect was released pending a future court date.

The investigation is ongoing so anyone with information who hasn’t spoken to police yet has been asked to call Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file 2025-9901.
