A victim has been less than forthcoming with North Okanagan police after he was shot in Spallumcheen late last night.
Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at a property in the 4800 block of Grandview Flats Road, according to a release from the Vernon RCMP.
Officers arrived to find a 31-year old man suffering from gunshot wounds. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening and he was taken to the hospital.
“The man is known to police and has been less than forthcoming with investigators,” Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release. “From our initial investigation, this appears to be a targeted attack and there is no known risk to the public.”
A residence in the area, believed to be related to the shooting, has been secured by police as part of the ongoing investigation.
Anybody who can help with the investigation is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-546-3028 and reference 2023-5197. Information can be shared anonymously by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
