A Penticton woman who once spent six months in prison, after she lied about having cancer and pulled in thousands of dollars in fundraising, has been arrested in Ontario and charged with fraud over a meat scam.
Krysta-Lyn Williams has been charged with fraud over $5,000 for bilking customers for $60,000, which customers sent to her online meat store DBL Meats.
The RCMP said the company was supposed to be based in Kelowna but it determined the company wasn't legitimate.
The 36-year-old is now being transported from Ontario to Alberta where she has been charged.
Williams, who spent years living in the Kelowna area, made headlines in 2018 when she was charged with a faking cancer and setting up a online fundraising campaign when she lived in Calgary.
She shaved her head and claimed to have cancer collecting about $16,000 in donations.

In 2020, she was sentenced to six months jail for the fraudulent fundraiser followed by two-and-half years probation. Court records show while she was on probation she moved back to B.C.
In her recent alleged scam, the RCMP said 16 people arranged large meat orders sending through $60,000, but the orders were never delivered.
The RCMP told CTV they believe maybe up to 50 people may have been scammed and is urging the public to contact them.
Anyone who had been in contact with DBL Meats is asked to call RCMP at 403-443-5539.
