Lower Mainland ballet dancers will be in Kamloops and the Okanagan over the next month to perform the classical ballet Swan Lake
Swan Lake tells a story of magic, romance, betrayal, forgiveness, purity and love that stars a conniving villain, noble prince, a black swan and a white swan, according to a media release from the Mission Dance Company.
“Beautiful dancers and costumes fill the stage with sudden twists of the story and new characters giving the audience an experience of both excitement, suspense, and wondering if the purity of the white swan will, against all odds, do away with evil Rothbart once and for all,” the release says. “Truly a breathtaking experience for the whole family.”
Tickets for the performances are available through each venue.
In Kamloops the show is scheduled for May 19 and 20 at the Sagebrush Theatre, in Penticton June 9 at the Cleland Theatre, in Kelowna June 10 and 11 at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, and in Vernon on June 24 and 25 at the Performing Arts Centre.
