KELOWNA - RCMP are investigating a semi-trailer fire at a gravel pit in Kelowna this morning.

Kelowna fire crews were called to the fire in the 4800 Block of Stewart Road West in the Crawford Estates area at around 7:20 a.m. today, Dec. 14, to find the trailer engulfed in flames, Platoon Capt. Tim Light says in a media release.

The trailer, which housed the power plant for a rock crusher, was completely destroyed, as was a UTV, Light says.

"The fire has been deemed suspicious and the RCMP are investigating," he says in the release.
