Suspect nabbed in Kamloops after hiding out for months

A man with a dozen warrants, including two from Kamloops, was arrested in Central BC this weekend.

Tyler Meldrum, 28, has been a wanted man since September, but appears to have evaded capture until Jan. 14.

“Efforts to locate Meldrum in Kamloops were unsuccessful but an investigator learned that he was likely hiding out in a residence in Alexis Creek RCMP’s area and connected with RCMP officers there,” Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of Kamloops RCMP said in a news release.

Once police confirmed he was staying in a home in the community of Anaham west of Williams Lake, police arrested him Sunday morning.

Meldrum was wanted on two warrants for breaching release conditions in September, along with nine more warrants from Alexis Creek and another from Williams Lake.

“Crime may know no boundaries, but neither does the RCMP,” Shoihet said.

He was scheduled to appear in court today, Jan. 15, in Williams Lake.
