Sunny and warm start to the week in Kamloops

Kamloops could see some clouds and possible showers this week but for the most part conditions should be sunny and temperatures a little above average for this time of year.

Today, April 20, and tomorrow look like a good opportunity to get some gardening or yard work in before showers arrive later this week.

Environment Canada says today should be a fine spring day, with an expected high of 23 Celsius. That's five degrees above normal for this time of year.

Sunny skies should prevail throughout the day.

Tuesday’s Kamloops forecast is expected to be largely a repeat of today, although clouds could begin rolling in later in the day.

Overnight lows are expected to be 6 C tonight and 7 C tomorrow night.

It’s not going to be anywhere near as nice as that in Ontario this week as winter is making a comeback.

The Weather Network says a cold front bound for central Canada is expected to bring showers to the Toronto area on Tuesday, along with alternating snow and rain to Ottawa. There’s some potential for minor snowfall amounts in southern Ontario and as much as 20 cm of snow to parts of northern Ontario, in a forecast that looks more like winter than spring in that province.

Kamloops could see a cooler and wetter pattern arrive starting on Wednesday, with a high of 20 C under a sun and cloud mix.

There is a 60 per cent chance Kamloops could see showers Wednesday night, along with a low of 9 C.

Those showers could extend into Thursday and Thursday night, with a high of 16 C expected.

Those skies should clear by Friday to a sun and cloud mix, however, with Friday’s high up to a seasonal 18 C.

A mix of sun and cloud and highs of 20 C are forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

Kamloops’s normal high and low for this time of year is 18 C and 4 C.
